Press Release: Albuquerque Mobile Canning Company Jumps on Emerging Wine Canning Market

Albuquerque, September 9th, 2014 –

Mother Road Mobile Canning is a mobile canning company based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Springfield, Missouri. They focus on canning for local craft breweries, wineries, and cider companies throughout the United States.

Mother Road offers canning services using a WG250 canning machine from Wild Goose Canning Technologies, Inc. This machine is capable of processing standard 12oz cans at a rate of nearly 40 cans per minute.

This September, Mother Road is scheduled to receive a new “slim” canning machine that will process 187ml, 200ml, and 250ml cans. This new line will be dedicated to the emerging canned wine market.

“We are very excited about providing more services to new customers,” says David Smidt, President of Mother Road Mobile Canning.

In addition to the new wine line, Mother Road now offers new solutions in labeling. Since printed cans must be ordered in large quantities, Mother Road offers companies that are interested in smaller runs two labeling solutions – Shrink Wrap and Pressure Sensitive Labels.

Shrink wrap labeling offers the client 360 degrees of coverage on their products by using cylindrical sleeves of heat-sensitive plastic, which are placed over blank cans and run on a conveyor system through a dry heat tunnel. The other major option is Pressure Sensitive Labeling: during the canning process, filled and sealed cans leave the line and are then received by the pressure sensitive labeling machine that adheres a custom printed sticker to the face of the can. This offers a convenient, slightly more cost effective solution for canning runs.

“With this new equipment,” David continues, “Mother road can now offer canning solutions for a huge array of can sizes–from the slim 187ml to a full 16oz. This gives us the flexibility to can and label all sorts of products: everything from from beer and cider, to wine…and even coffee and energy drinks.”
